I never thought I’d find myself in a situation like this but here I am trying to make sense of it all. My mom (43F) has been dating a man named Dave (45M) for about a year. At first he seemed nice enough if a little distant. I didn’t think much of him but over time something about his behavior began to feel off.
I recently came into some money and now face a difficult decision that has created tension in my family. My wife and I have three children and while I believe the fairest way to handle the money is to split it equally among them my wife feels differently. She wants to give a larger portion to one child which has sparked a heated debate between us.
