The other day I went to pick up my friend since her car has been out of commission for a while. It’s something I’ve done before without issue but this time as soon as she saw my car she started asking if she could drive. I immediately said no.

A few months ago my friend lost his job and apartment. Feeling bad for him and wanting to help I offered him a place to stay at my home while he got back on his feet.

I have a hysterectomy scheduled for mid-April and one of the critical things my doctor emphasized is that I won’t be able to bend over or squat for at least a week or two during recovery.

On a September afternoon I was hiking through a large wildlife refuge on my day off. The refuge isn’t a state park where I work but I’m familiar with its layout. It features four trails of varying difficulty all looping back to the same starting point.

When I walked into the electronics store all I wanted was a smooth transaction to buy a TV for my new apartment. I picked out a model I liked paid for it and was told to wait while the staff retrieved it from the stockroom.

When my ex, the father of my two boys (5 and 3), went to prison in April, life changed drastically for everyone. Before his incarceration he shared custody of the kids, taking them half the time for about eight months. Prior to that I was their sole caregiver.
